Olena Chorna Fine Arts, spearheaded by Olena Chorna, is dedicated to sharing the rich heritage of Petrykivka decorative painting globally.
Specializing in original artwork and immersive workshops, the business offers a range of experiences for individuals of all backgrounds to explore this cherished and unique Ukrainian Folk Art called Petrykivka.
Olena offers art classes, workshops for all ages, corporate clients as well her own original artwork in both Fine Arts and Petrykivka Folk Art.
1. Introduction – I’ll start by introducing myself and sharing a brief history of my experience and education.
2. Overview of Petrykivka Art – I’ll introduce Petrykivka, the UNESCO-recognized Ukrainian folk art style we’ll use for the Christmas ornament.
3. Demonstration – I’ll demonstrate one-stroke painting, showing how to create traditional strokes for leaves and flowers.
4. Practice – We’ll practice the strokes on paper and create leaf and flower first, and painting floral patterns.
5. Ornament Painting – Once we’re comfortable with the technique, we’ll transfer the pattern onto the Christmas ornament and add glitter as a finishing touch. I’ll also provide a ribbon for each ornament, and everyone will take their hand-painted ornament home!

• 4 sheets of premium-quality color paper for practice
• Multi-surface premium acrylic paint (full color palette)
• One Christmas ornament per person (with a selection of colors)
• Dotting tools
• Handmade brush for fine details
• Round synthetic brush
• Paper towels
• Q-tips
• Pencils and erasers
• Water containers
• Glitter
